Free Drum Lesson #2

Don’t rimshot every time you play the snare.

I personally got into a bad habit of playing all my ghost notes as normal snare notes and everything else as a rimshot.

You’re just selling yourself short by limiting your dynamic range. You should have ghost notes, normal notes, accented notes and rimshots. I would think about the tone a rimshot gives you too. Is it the right sound? You should be able to play a rimshot both soft and loud.
