It is really dependant on budget but if you can afford to go in above the really basic entry level ones I would as they’ll keep you in good stead for longer.

The second hand market is rife with cymbals and I personally would start there.

I think that a new pack that would cost you around £700 at the time of writing this, you might be able to find for around £500 buying them individually of somewhere like a facebook drum group.

Cymbals are expensive these days and don’t last forever, even if you aren’t a heavy hitter. So I wouldn’t buy anything expensive for your first set.

If you do go brand new look around the £300 to £500 for a pack with hihats, crash and ride.
